Hello everyone, I’m your cohost, and today I’m excited to share with you an insightful conversation I had with Michelle Boundy, the founder and leader of She Inspires Me Australia. In this episode, we delve into 3 services that Michelle is passionate about in the ‘She Has the Courage to Lead’ podcast space.
Standbyu: A Beacon of Support for Women
During a recent trip to Queensland, Michelle had the opportunity to learn about a service called StandbyU. Founded by Chris Bull, a social worker, Stand By U is a beacon of support for women, creating vital connections to help them feel safe. One of the innovative features of this service is a safety plan that includes a watch-like device. This device can be tapped to alert five nominated people in case of danger. I encourage you all to learn more about Stand By U and support their commendable work.
The Allison Baden-Clay Foundation: Educating and Preventing Domestic Violence
The second service we discussed is the Allison Baden-Clay Foundation. Established in honour of Allison Baden, the foundation aims to educate the community about family domestic violence and prevent it. Check out their newest initiative Toxic Love Signs.
The Impact of Technology and Gender Equality
In our conversation, we also touched on the impact of technology in educating and supporting people to be safe in their communities. We recalled a previous guest on the Courage to Lead interviews, Stephanie Copus Campbell, Australia’s Gender Equality Ambassador. She highlighted the importance of gender equality and safety in increasing community productivity.
Everyday Heroes: Cinnamon and Every Organics
We then shifted our conversation to a remarkable woman named Cinnamon. She created a product called EveryMite to provide a safe alternative for her son with food intolerances. The product gained popularity and led Cinnamon to establish Every Organics, a company that produces nutritious everyday products. Cinnamon’s passion and generosity are truly inspiring, as she uses a percentage of her profits to give back to the community.
Supporting the New South Wales Police Legacy
Michelle also wanted to mention my support for the New South Wales Police Legacy, a charity that provides ongoing support to the families of police officers who have suffered a loss. I encourage you all to check out their merchandise and support their cause.
Upcoming Excitements and Acts of Kindness
As we wrapped up our conversation, we discussed some exciting announcements that Michelle believes will make this year her most phenomenal yet. We also reflected on an interview Michelle did with Shaun Tucker, about Kindness which has received positive feedback.
In the end, we were reminded of the importance of kindness. As Michelle beautifully put it, kindness can change lives and communities. So, let’s all strive to be kind every single day.
I hope you found this conversation as enlightening as I did. Please leave ratings and positive comments on our podcast site to help spread the message to a wider audience. Until next time, keep inspiring and keep leading with courage.
